The Life in My Years

An anthology of life

My San Francisco is a series of posts that describes my own personal relationship with The City. My San Francisco pieces might be photo essays, or life stories, or commentaries – or a combinations of all three. My impressions aren’t always paeans to San Francisco. It’s a beautiful city, but like any city, it can be dirty and gritty

A brief gallery of San Francisco highrises from an up close perspective.

  1. The photo with the clouds in the modern windows is my favorite. Fabulous.

Hello Neil. Thank you. I’m not sure if looking up while walking along the sidewalk of a busy street defines knowing what I’m doing.

      But I’ll take.

      Thank yiou for visiting

Interesting and varied architecture, and the cloud reflections in the second shot are fantastic! I also like the way you’ve used the zoom to foreshorten the distances between different buildings in the first one in particular 🙂

Hi Sarah. When I look at the first photo it almost looks like Legos. Thank you for visiting and commenting

Brilliant shots and the detail appears more defined in the B&W image and the first one. There are some positives of city life.

Hi Suzanne, I am so, so, sorry. I missed two comments that you made. I do appreciate your kind words. Yes there positives to city life. I wish I’d stayed in San Francisco and not moved to the suburbs. Now it’s far too expensive to move back.

Again I am so sorry for not having responded in a timely manner.

    Hi Paul,

You really have a talent. I’ve seen a lot of art this past week, and some of the modern pieces … meh. They just don’t move me.

Your photos are much more interesting. You take something ordinary and make it extraordinary.
