This week’s Lens-Artist Photo Challenge comes from Ann-Christine who suggests that we find images with delicate colors in celebration of Spring.
While sunrise and sunset often treat the viewer to brilliant, bright and vibrant views, dawn and dusk can also deliver the softest hues.
Below are two views of nearby San Pablo Bay at sunset. In the lower photo with the railroad tracks I took a lot of editing license and went for a watercolor effect while fooling around with some Photoshop gadgetry I’d never tried before. 
Below, late afternoon provides a pleasing light to an old wall in Jacksonville, Oregon. 
Below, more editorial tomfoolery, this time a photo of Rue St. Jean in Quebec City, Canada.
Below, sunrise at South Beach Marina, San Francisco, California. 
Flowers and plants too, can be either bold and bright or provide a delicacy with caressing colors and quiet pastels.

Ah – just as I knew it would be…a total treat! Love the skies and the old wall especially – and of course the photoshop treatments and results! Fun, Isn’t it? I have indulged in some of it now as well, as there are not the same opportunities to photograph these days.

Thank you Ann-Christine. I love those old brick walls with the advertisements in black. That late afternoon light was ideal for a color image. Oftentimes I prefer those in B&W or in a vintage tone. PS is fun. I’ve been self-teaching myself for months and then I realized that with all the time that I have at home I might use it wisely and take a tutorial. It’s amazing to learn what I didn’t know.
