This week, Tina Schell of Travels and Trifles hosts the Lens-Artists Challenge and the topic is opposites.
There are two possible takes on this topic. I would like to say that I could offer a selection of photos showing opposites in the same image. And maybe I have some of those. Certainly a personal challenge for the future.
And so I’m going with what is for me the path of least resistance; pairs of images at opposing poles.
Sweet and pungent
The two photos below were taken at the Marche Jean Talon in Montreal. 
Dinner and breakfast
(or if you prefer, a meal and a snack)
The photo below is an example of my daily breakfast during our stay in Montreal. Everything was purchased at Marche Jean Talon. I would take my breakfast on the small back patio of our flat.
The photo below is a dish that my wife cooks (not often enough). There’s a special memory attached to this dish. It was the first dinner she cooked for me when we were dating, way back in the 1970’s. 
Clear and cloudy
The photos below were taken in Montana. The first photo, crystal clear, was taken on the Beartooth Highway.
The photo below was taken in Yellowstone National Park as a storm was brewing over a distant mountain range. 
An angry Pacific and a pacific Pacific
Two views of the Pacific Ocean. The first was taken at Gray Whale Cove in San Mateo County and the second was taken from the Muir Beach overlook in Marin County.
This image could be an example of a photo with images of both angry (the wave) and calm (the tranquil birds). 
Sunrise/Sunset
One subject which will absolutely not allow taking an image of each in the same photo. Sunrise was taken at a ranch near Fort Klamath, Oregon. 
Sunset at Lake Tahoe during the late fall of 2020. Yes, THAT 2020. Three families stayed at an Airbnb. With the exception of some walks we didn’t leave the house, but it was a pleasant escape from COVID confinement at home.

The Life in My Years 
Breathtaking scenery, but I admit I love the sweet and pungent interpretations. Those would be great photos to canvas for a kitchen wall. Very nice. Donna

Wonderful selection! I especially liked your two Pacific shots and the sunrise and sunset – stunning! And your Montreal breakfast looks just perfect 🙂 As for cloudy and clear, I’m now kicking myself that I didn’t include my two contrasting photos of the view from our room at Paradise Lodge in Mount Rainier NP. While I’ve posted them before, they would have been so perfect for this challenge and I forgot all about them!!

Jean Talon was one of my favorite places in Montreal. The sunrise in Oregon? That was taken at the creepy bed and breakfast that I told you about. Mango sky. I’ll have to remember that one.
