Its the time of year when some areas of the nation are blanketed in white. But here in the San Francisco Bay Area its the time for winter rains to brighten the landscape. The hills have been getting regular showers and the landscapes wardrobe is going from stark brown to bright green. So this week’s Friday Fotos will focus on things green.
Oregon
One of the greenest places that I have ever been to is the state to our north. As we drove through the Umpqua National Forest we made several stops and hiked into the greenery, following rivers, streams, and seeking out waterfalls.
Louisiana
The pelican state is awash in green – from the swamps to the plantations.

Green stem of my wife’s orchid after a morning shower. Note the reflection of the brick pillar of my porch in the raindrop. And the little red dot in the drop would be me in my sweatshirt. Gotta love macro lenses.
Love the waterfall
Thank you. The drive through Oregon offered countless waterfalls of different sizes and all of them were wreathed in green. A beautiful state.
Used to visit Oregon alot. Love the green.
It aint easy being green but why wonder why? 🙂
Nice shots, very green indeed!
Thank you for the compliment. Much appreciated. Currently enjoying that relatively short window of green in the Bay Area
Oregon is a very pretty state. I can’t say the same for the 3 1/2 years I lived there. It’s not a bad place, just didn’t appeal to me, at least the southern part of it.
